System requirements: Apple silicon Mac running macOS 15 or later.
Open the disk image
Double-click the downloaded ShotBox disk image, then drag ShotBox into Applications.
Try opening ShotBox once
Open Applications and double-click ShotBox. macOS will explain that it cannot verify the developer. Choose Done.
Allow the first launch
Open System Settings, choose Privacy & Security, scroll to Security, and select Open Anyway beside the ShotBox message. Confirm with your Mac password or Touch ID.
Grant only the permissions you use
macOS may request Screen Recording for capture, Accessibility for global shortcuts, and folder access for watched locations. ShotBox explains each permission when it is needed.
Why is this required?
This early build is distributed without Apple’s paid Developer ID certificate. The extra step is macOS Gatekeeper confirming that you chose to open it. Once approved, ShotBox opens normally on later launches.
